Following a very “interesting” drive through the outskirts
of Miami to get to the Miami Everglades This is a very nice park that
is in the middle of many large commercial type nurseries. It has all the usual amenities along with a
paved walking trail that is one mile long around the edge of the park which
included Avocado trees with fresh and ripening Avocados. Diane picked a few during a walk about and we
had them in our morning smoothies. Very
nice, the difference to the Haas Avocado’s that we are used to in Arizona is
the size of the pit or seed. The Haas Avocado
has a much smaller pit in relationship to the size of the fruit itself. They tasted very nice and obviously very
fresh!RV Park we settled in for the evening.
The following morning we decided to repeat the driving process
without the trailer to visit with friends at their Penthouse Condo rental very
near the beach in Miami. Another
“interesting” drive, I am sure the people of Miami do not know what the little
stick thing is on the left side of the steering wheel that operates the turn
signals because very few of them used it.
Ron met us and guided us to the under ground parking – thank
you, thank you, thank you! The truck
just fit with ½ inch to spare, whew!! We
had to be careful around the fire sprinkler heads, as this was even closer to
the roof at times.
Off we went to visit South Beach by bus. The ride there was normal and we had a great
walk looking at all the expensive houses, condos and copious amounts of silicon
on the beach. Following lunch and more
walking through different hotels of the rich and famous. Nope did not see anyone famous, must have
been just the rich there that day.
It was time to head back to the condo, we only forgot one thing, rush hour on a Friday afternoon – oops! I am sure we are now much more familiar with many Miami locals than we were before we got on the bus. There was no worry about falling over as we were packed in so tight we couldn’t move. I was just hoping no one had beer and/or pickled eggs J.
The drive back to the campground was much more relaxing.
