Wednesday, November 19 – A Little Hike in the bush

Today was hiking day for Diane and "veg" day for Mike. While Diane went for a walk I stayed in the Ti and went through paperwork and "shredded" some old receipts etc.  Weather was kinda cool and one of those days just to stay in for me.  I updated the blog and killed some aliens for a short time in the afternoon.

Hats and Mittens were the order of the day
Diane, Joan and friends Arlene & Marty drove to Withlacoochee State Forest and hiked an 8 mile loop starting adjacent the Tucker Hill fire tower, on the Croom Hiking Trail in Hernando County.  The trail consisted of Live Oak, Palmetto Palm Shrubs and other trees and plants that you would see in Ontario.  As you can see by the photo of Arlene, Marty and Joan it was cold, in the mid 40 degrees F – Brrrr!!

A walk towards the Dark Side?
Some 'shrooms.
Along the hike they spotted a hunter, hmm wonder what he is doing here?? Oops, they found out it was hunting season!  Didn’t see any postings mentioning that.  Time to quicken the pace and make “human” type noises. Should they be singing real loud?

Banana Spider
One of the insects that Diane and Joan had never seen before was the banana spider – interesting and BIG but not poisonous thank goodness.
