Washington to Salisbury, NC to Covington, GA to Lake Helen, FL.

Sorry about not updating as we have not had internet service to do this.  We are currently at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Daytona Beach, FL.  The weather was very chilly (60 F) when we arrived with a chilly wind.  Now to update where we have been in the last few days.

We left Washington, DC and bound Salisbury, NC to visit my cousin and her son on October 29th.  The timing was perfect as it is her Birthday tomorrow (Oct 30).  The drive was uneventful which is always good.  One note though, I always thought as you travelled south, it was supposed to get warmer?  Well, this is not happening!! We spent a wonderful day with Linda and Josh, lunch at the East Coast Wings which was very good and the rest of the day was spent back at the campsite.

Halloween evening (Oct 31st) had us travelling to Covington, GA to visit Glenn & Lura (Titanium friends).  We arrived and set up camp right beside their house.  Actually we took the place of their Ti which is at the Doctor's getting fixed.  I think it made them feel better with a Ti in the driveway, even though it wasn't the same colour :).

November 1st (our 29th Anniversary) was spent with Glenn and Lura giving us a tour of the area including Stone Mountain which is a wonderful tourist area that also has a very nice campground.  Lunch at a Mexican Restaurant called "Frontera's", wonderful meal that was really filling.  We had put some ribs in the crockpot that morning and after we arrived back at Glenn and Lura's we were still stuffed.  We waited until about 7 PM and had just the ribs and wonderful conversation from "Brassieres to Chandeliers".

It was time to leave the following day (Nov 2nd), oops time change and we were up really early.  We took our time getting going because the temperature was around 34 F with a heavy frost!!  I did not want to leave too early due to chance of black ice on the bridges.  The temperature was coming up pretty quick and we left about 8 AM.  Roads were great and because it was early and Sunday the traffic was minimal.

As we drove towards Lake Helen, FL we were watching the temperature slowly climb and were cheering when it reached 50 F and then 60 F and the Palm Trees - Yea!!!!  We arrived at Ed and Jinny's at about 5 PM and set up.  Quick dinner and then to bed as it got dark really early - not what we are used to.

Daytona Beach and area tomorrow and forecast warmer temperatures, gotta be a good day.
